... within the landscape of rock and towering pine trees as opposed to on top of it. We ate delicious burgers from a local joint that offered a plate of fries rightfully named "The mess", an enormous pile of chili and cheese covered fries topped with onions that nearly broke through the plate it was served on. After much digesting we even found a sweet spot to go sledding, leaving the hill with wet, snow soaked pants and frozen fingers, so worth it though.

... divers in the ice cold water.....
We had a great time in great company for the whole day and Linda kept thanking them for "adopting us" for the night. We had dinner with Mark, Tricia, Nash and Jen which included Pizza, crab cakes, prawns and salads.
Everyone took the early night option to be in bed by about 10:30pm which is unheard of for us up until today....ZZZ's galore!
No chance to add pics as yet....maybe later so stay tuned.
... in the end I was stuck with a nasty focaccia bacon-y creation that in no way made up for the sandwich I was craving. It wasn't going to be my day for food....
We spent almost the entire day driving through NV. It was super boring. We'd finished our last book on tape during Day 9 and the surroundings were incredibly stark. Somewhere near the UT- NV border I almost got us into trouble by getting the gas tank down to about 11 miles left- an indication ...
... Lake was a beautiful lake and we got house envy looking at the log and cedar sided homes along here. (Hmmm…maybe we should’ve tried to hit the jackpot at Harrah’s???)
Autumn here was beautiful but the most beautiful sight of all was the most spectacular sunset on our trip, which you'll see in the photos. No color enhancement with these pix - the colors were that intense.
Next stop…Yosemite National Park.
... there is also snow in tahoe high up but very pretty and obviously cold. they say that the weather will settle tomorrow so maybe we can get out and about and see some sights. we did get a couple of pics but the camera is in the car. tomorrow we head for san fransisco but will go round the lake for some views. so bye for now and we'll speak to you from san fran. we need to do some "shopping" for mike! x

Oh, and beads.
Please excuse me for not posting some of the more interesting pictures from today's little jaunt, since I'm not sure what this site's policy is on, well, interesting pictures.
Besides, once you've seen one pair... you wanna see them all. Am I wrong? (That's what Google is for.)
... homes. On the way back down we stopped off at Inspiration Point overlooking Emerald Bay. It looked like a nice area with a few trails. When we got back to the hotel I did a bit of research on hikes and we decided to head to DL Bliss Park and do the Rubicon Trail which follows along the lake to Emerald Bay / Vikingsholm.
We packed our lunch and swimming gear and off we set the following day. It was a really great hike and most of the way you had views of ...
Da macht Urlaub Spaß, oder was?!
Als wir dann nach ewiger Suche unsere Behausung endlich gefunden hatten - der Parkmitarbeiter hat uns das Licht gehalten, damit wir wenigstens das ...
... trees and rocks and feel more confident but my calves are burning, we were there all day, no breaks, water or food, Anna and Jenn finally headover and do a few runs with us, and then Paul and I head back to the lodge and its mostly cat walks until we get to the slope, and I suck at catwalks and people are flying bye me or crashing in front of me, im ****** again, then get over to the slope...and its steep and super icy...I tell Paul to just leave, its ...
Lake Tahoe, California, United States albert413... truly a little bit of alpine heaven in the Sierra Nevada. Parts of the road around the Lake elevate up into the mountains, soming amazing views of the Lake below and the snow capped mountains up high. While driving we noticed there were numerous hidden campsites along the track, so we knew we would never be to far from a nice place to camp for the night. After selecting one we liked, it was another campsite experience and this ...
