Birding around Anglesey
... we arrived the tide was a long way out and most of the birds were around the waters edge. Even with the telescope the smaller species were quite difficult to identify but we did speak to a local birder who gave us directions to a Black-throated Diver at Holyhead Harbour that had been around for a couple weeks.

When we arrived in the dark, the most dominant feature in our view was Laugharne Castle and the wide open estuary of the River Taf which flows into Carmarthen Bay.
