Dark and dingy, but cozy enough. Not impressed with their food.

Easy to find. RIGHT NEXT TO THE BELL TOWER! MOST ROOMS HAVE A SPECTACULAR VIEW OF THE TOWER! Less expensive than the more "Pretentious" hostels around but much more kind and fun. I have the impression that the owners enjoy their business more than just a modicum to suck the last mao from their customers. The staff is friendly, helpful, easy to communicate with. The single rooms are gorgeous and the best deal in this part of the city, My favorite hostel in China so far!!! P.S. The bar/restaurant is quite nice with the best Chinese Hostel Hamburgers I've had so far. With Tsing Tao beers at 10 RMB each there is a nice party on any given night. The ambience is incredible.

I researched this place before i arrived and decided to chance it. I got given a double room, which was very clean and nicely decorated. The hotel only has wifi in the reception and the bar, so if you want peace and quiet then you have to sit in the reception. I went to the bar and it was heaving with locals - very lively! It was nice during the day and good for breakfast. The staff in the hotel were very friendly, although I did keep getting little post-it notes on my door reminding me of things!

However my School told me that if I taught an extra class the week before, I could have the whole week off- bonus. I told the class which I had already taught that week that had another class with me- screams and shouts of YAYY! Which made me very …

Our organised day had arrived to visit the Terracotta Warriors, with an English speaking guide!

We left at 9:00 am. after breakfast at the Bell Tower YHI. Our tour guide, Chelsea (Chinese girl) took us to a 6,000 year old, archaeological site, of a village they had excavated, which they have preserved undercover. The houses were round or …

Xi'an - and Hayden lost/had stolen, his passport with car licence and over 1,000 yuan, either on the plane or when we arrived at the airport, so most of the day was taken up in organizing another passport and Chinese Visa. His first step was to report to the police and obtain a travel document, to have permission to travel. The closest Embassy and …
