Today is a day at sea traveling from Vancouver BC to Ketchikan AK. This leg of the cruse is about 600 miles heading north. To say we were at sea is a little bit of a misnomer. We are taking the inside passage much of the way so we are seldom out of the sight of land. Sitting on deck you can see islands slipping by on both sides of the ship.

During the afternoon of Monday March 9th, my tourism class and I visited The Fort Langley National Historical Site. It was to our disappointment that most of the shops and cafes were closed on Mondays. Their weekend is probably on Sundays and Mondays, so most of the shops are closed. Well, we're finally back on land and made it to Vancouver. We were bussed from the ship terminal to the airport, and had several hours to wait. Vancouver is much larger than I thought and seemed like a reasonable city. Its very diverse. Anyway, we will catch a flight home and then be back to the grind.

Yesterday I went for a cycle ride with other 'Swappers' around Stanley Park. It was a great chance to meet more people working out here and the weather was pretty good too! Today, i drove from Courtenay to Victoria. I then took the 25-min flight over to Vancouver. My friend Tricia is kindly putting me for a few nights, and then I fly back to Calgary on Saturday.

Home for 3 weeks for my grandma's 90th birthday celebration at Harrison Hot Springs. A visit full of family, fun, great snow, and 2 weeks with the flu :(
