Even the resorts themselves are small - most of the tourists bus in for the day only from Cebu city and then bus back home. When planning our trip we decided we wanted to be in the Philippines for Christmas and New Year, if you're not going to be with family and friends you might as well be in the sun on some of the best beaches in the world. We booked most of our domestic flights in advance to get the cheapest deal at this time of year, as you can pay lots more if you don't.

The next day we had a split program. Hazel went for a dive at a nearby site and saw some fantastic sea life (and also caught quite a bad sunburn in doing so). Lazy Kevin on the other side just took “a day off” and devoted some time to reading and doing nothing.

... and the rash had gone =] Luckily just in time for a=our day of diving - we went to Apo Island with Harrolds Mansion and did 3 dives. The boat ride there was wet! Large waves engulfing the boat - we were so grateful we were not snorkelling as the waters were rough. The dives were fatastic we saw so many different things and really enjoyed the diving.
