Goa is beautiful, Goa is the local Ibiza, even if that wasn't the full season, so many bars and restaurants were open on the sea side.
We found a great hostel called D'mello's and we could sleep in the great room called LM 8 where 8 stand for infinite, indeed from the room we had a panoramic view of the whole beach... just amazing, the wall where in bamboo, the wind was crossing
the room entirely.
The day after was saturday and we wanted to Party in GOA, so we started on the sea...
... swooped down over water and boat. Unfortunately not able to swim in water because of said crocs!!
Oh yes how could I forget,,,,,1st day went to beach sat by ocean and thought what do I have for lunch? By sea in Goa so it has to be fish. Ordered it ate it, enjoyed it and finished every last little bit.
As Claire said.....the world stopped spinning on its axis.......
... these cards and unleashing hoards of ear diggers to harass the touring public.
We drove on to Arambol Beach, the northern-most beach in Goa State (next post) Barb would walk the beach every day there. She would return to the hotel with reports of seeing tourists, initially talking to a local on the beach, then quickly covering their ears, waving their hands through their hair, and then quickly running from the would be ear diggers.
... is a more upmarket beach, it had really fine sand and again was beautiful but we didn't have much time here as we wanted to get back to our place for sunset although we missed it anyway as we got lost on the scooters!
We had dinner at our place and had a whole red snapper fish between the four of us. The fish was so tasty, they cooked it in a masala marinade in a tandoori oven and it was delicious. After another stroll on the beach we ...
So Lach and I find ourselves back in the state of Goa. Since I last wrote we headed inland back to the state of Karnataka to the town of Hampi for a week.
Hampi is a bit of a surreal place set amongs these huge boulders along a river. It is a religious site with heaps and heaps of temple ruins from around the 15th ...
... artists in Goa! The food was good too... There were also some Indian tourists around, so again we were a bit of a tourist atraction, especially at the beach, with people walking from far just to stare at us, and Indian can stare! If you ever have been to India, you know what we mean, you can't outstare an Indian! After 5 nice relaxing days we left Goa on the night train to Cochin (Kochi) in India's southern Kerala state. PT: Goa! Finalmente o mar, depois de 1 ...
Goa, Goa, India aguas... for many many hours :-) Got an offer from a stupid guy that wanted to sell cocain to me inside at the place. Except from that we had a nice time there. On the way back it was a must to take a swim in the pool and cool down ...
Goa, India niklas.ekdahl... The beaches are fairly isolated and each year they rebuild these palm fron structures where you can go to escape the sun and get a juice or water. The locals seem really nice and the kids love to have their pictures taken. I have some great shots but dont have my camera cable with me so I will upload them later. Tonight I went to take a picture of the sunset. there were two little indian girls playing hopscotch on the beach and some locals playing cricket. I waited for the sun ...
Anjuna, India mlillie... day we attracted one seller in particular who talked to us for a good while before trying to sell us anything. She sweet talked Tim into paying an extortionate amount for some beads, I could only laugh when he asked me to take over the haggling! He is now wearing them as a 'badge of stupidity'!! Chatting with these girls is really entertaining and they don't take any **** from the tourists - Indian or foreign. One girl walks around inviting sunbathers to look at ...
Vagator, Goa, India tsargood... through exactly what I was going through and put me straight on all the things I was panicking about! If I hadn't met him, I might have been home a lot earlier! I was staying in the touristy area of Colaba in Mumbai (Bombay), right next to The Gateway to India which is not only an impressive momument to the visit of an imperialist ruler (probably British), but an excellent spot to watch Indians on holiday. They go completely barmy are pushing ...
