... to have a rest only to discover a flat tyre on our car. The hotel handyman made a quick job of changing it for us and so we took it to town to the tyre shop to get fixed. Believe it or not it only cost R30 ($3). Had a good look around the busy township. Very African, lively and busy. Bought wine but forgot the water. Got back to discover Kristin and Julian had arrived. Sat and chatted about our trip over a cup of tea. We finished the evening with a very nice meal in the restaurant at ...

... the same path twice, well, not within the space of a few months anyway, and each adventure is just as new to him as it is to us. The bush changes daily. One of Ricks specialities is tracking, which with so few wilderness areas left, is becoming a rare skill. ... all the big boys hang out here, and we hope to get up close to them on foot! No car protection, no escape, no where to run! But first we have an evening drive in the inhabited area of the park and a night at Mpila Tented Camp. Hluhuluwi-iMfolozi is actually two parks together, covering 96000 hectares. Today we will be staying in the iMfolozi sector. This is also where the wilderness area starts. When we approach the park entrance, waiting to ...

... greener there. Brunch at Centenary centre. More Zebra and a foal. At airstrip camera track there was a herd of Impala that leapt in the air as they ran away and the Warthogs ran after them with their tails in the air like flags. Philip was worried about Buffalo a little way off at one of the cameras. Stopped at Boma briefly to say goodbye to dogs. Saw Lion on sandbar at river, a long way off in distance. Back to Camp at 2pm. Antonine was there, the Monitor ...
