Sleazy Sihanoukville.
20 March - 2 nights
We arrived in Sihanoukville around 1 pm after taking a minibus with Giant Ibis, the price was $10 each. We had a comfy seat, Air Con, TV with movies and free water. The trip was about 4 and a half hours with one stop. We watched Ice Age 4 and Grown Ups, as we were at the front we could hear the TV over the loud …
Cambodia - Sihanoukville
What LP says: Surrounded by white-sand beaches and undeveloped tropical islands, the port city and beach resort of Sihanoukville (Krong Preah Sihanouk), also known as Kompong Som, is the closest thing you get to the Costa del Cambodia. Visitor numbers have risen steadily in recent years – and are likely to skyrocket if flights to Siem Reap …

... couple and chatted to them for a bit before the party game of drinking through a snorkel started! The company is owned by a German. In fact most the businesses here are german or Russian owned. So getting away with no drinking games wasn't going to happen. Sunil of course had something to prove and succeeded. On our way back we chatted to a dive instructor from Suffolk and she gave us some good tips on where to learn an how best to make ...
Day 31 17th Nov Siem Reap-Sihanoukville Cambodia
This was the worst bus journey ever!! We booked our tickets asking every question you can imagine to make our journey as stress free as possible, well nuh huh this wasn't even worth bothering with! I have found out on my travels that you are in their mercy they will do what ever they want regardless of how much you paid or what you were told! Do not believe arrival times nor the type of bus you will be traveling on. Think of the worst bus and add 4 hours onto your arrival time ...
Serendipity beach - Mekong buckets and 3 Mohawks
Arrived in sihanoukville in the rain ( so much for coming to the beach). Checked into Monkey Republic and had a toastie to recharge. We soon met up with Matt, Dan and Aimeé, who we first met in Battambang and then randomly bumped into Matt in PP. They are from Dublin and we got on really well with them, lots of laughs! We grabbed some dinner and then headed out to see what the nightlife was like. Sihanoukville is one of those places where it is possible to get fairly ...

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Definitely opt for the air conditioning as the fan barely copes - I'd say it was actually cooler outside the room. Good quality rooms. It's a shame it's not more centrally located as otherwise would have stayed longer.
