Getting hungry, an old lady approached us and offered us a meal so we followed her into the village and up to a bare room in her stilt house, small children peeking at us from around the corner. The dragon back shaped limestone formations stood in front of us in endless rows, the clouds playing among them. It was like being in an art gallery admiring the shapes of the mountains. By the way, they all have funny names such as “camel crossing the river " and so ...

... instructions on what to put where, how much of this sauce, how hot the heat should be... I feel so educated, except for missing out the peanuts in the Gong Bao Chicken (ironic I know but much more Katie friendly and seeing as I was eating this...) Hoping this kitchen experience doesn't completely go to waste. Of course it will tie in nicely with my abilities to order Chinese food from a menu and poor a pint of beer when I'm back home. ...
