It was amazing in different ways as the sky was bluer, all of the colourful umbrellas added a splash of colour and the mountains were closer. At the end of the trip, there was feeding and selfies with a water buffalo. As the fishing was so quick I signed up for yet another fishing tour which took place after dark. It made for **** photos but it was pretty cool. The fisherman had a light hanging at the end of the ...

She finally stopped and I took a sneak look loads of ...

Antje looked a bit scared – I could clearly see in her face that she was questioning the place I brought her. But in the end we arrived at Yangshuo and our cute little hotel – a recommendation from my Western colleagues.

The hotel was family managed and with a beautiful view over the city with the background of the mountains. Very nice! The ...

... day I ventured out about 20 km to a museum which focused on the Ethnic minorities of the area. Apparently Guangxi, the province I am in is about 1/3rd non-Han Chinese, about 18 million, all told. That's fairly big considering the country is 93 percent Han. Its neat to see a bit of heterogeneity showing through the ubiquitous weave of Han civilization and was definitely a worth while trip which has inspired me to head north after my next stop into the Minority regions of the ...
