Back in Chiang Mai

Bec and I have gotten Suvarnabhumi Airport totally sorted now, not meaning to brag but we managed to clear Immigration and Customs in 5 minutes flat.

Anybody who has been through there more than once will know that there are about 120 Immigration desks spread over about 3 different primary lines, all we did was walk about 50M extra in the opposite direction to all the other passengers off our flight and we walked straight up to an Immigration desk, we had our bags off the carousel befo...

Nothing to Report, Just chillin

It is just so damn good to be back in Thailand, we managed to have awesome food and coffee, hour long massages and a big night out all for under $25

We had a relatively big sleep in and crawled back to the Kona Cafe for some more of their awesome iced coffee and breakfast. I really wish some of you guys back home could taste how good this food and coffee is, truly amazing espcially considering it's costing about $5aud per meal/drink for both of us.

Another lazy day was spent aro...

More sleep and more Massage

We slept in really late today, but it was well and truly needed. I don't think we ended up even leaving our room til about 1300

Your going to see some patterns starting to form now, but still, it's good

We went back to the Kona Cafe for more Awesome coffee and really nice lunch, we then walked down the road and sat down around one of the old city gates for a while. Back up the road for some more food at 1500, gotta love this holiday business, eat what you want when you feel hung...

Now I can cook Ma!

Today we were woken by an alarm, not a thing that we've been much used to in the last week, but it was all for good reason.

As per usual we trotted down to the Kona Cafe for some Breakfast and the most amzazing coffee (Along with the usual Sabaii Dee's, Korp Khun's and Sanook Mar's)

Today we were headed off to the Baan Thai Cooking school, just a little further up the road from where we were staying. Neither of us were quite sure what to expect as we did a cooking school in Chi...

Amazing Koh Pha Gan

19th December 2009

We didn't yet realize it, but we were in for many hours of traveling to reach our next destination in Thailand, we were told that the bus was seven hours and from there we can reach our destination on a local bus.

We walked to the bus station from our hotel, and on the way we passed some 'lady-boys' our first taste of the popular prostitutes of South- East Asia, we wanted to have a bit of a snoop so we walked back in that direction and had a 'cigarette', they ...

She was more than welcome to receive me, and we cooked six meals, including my personal Thai favourite, Chicken with cashew nuts (and rice). We also went to the local market and she showed us the finer points of some Thai foods (the ...

What is also cool, but slightly scary, is that only our elephant has no thai mahout to control it. It is controlled by the elephant in front who relays info/instructions from its mahout. After 2 hours we arrive at village/tribe no 2. This one had no electricity, so we ate by candlelight. It was really enjoyable, apart from about 1000 flying ants who were ...

... of foreigners standing in the street talking for over an hour. I could still hear them with my headphones on and Zen meditation music playing. I'm not sure when I fell asleep but it seemed like Jessie's rooster work us up extremely early. Several times. We finally dragged ourselves out of bed and got dressed and headed down for breakfast. The truck to go on the trek was to pick us up at 8:30. We ate breakfast and went back up to get ready. The truck arrived and ...

Ben insisted on taking a photo of us at the station holding our tickets north - I guess the equivalent in Britain would be two Thais sat at Watford Junction taking a photo of their day pass to Manchester! Such tourists! The journey was ok - we were positioned a bit close to the doors which were very noisy when opened so I guess that's something to note for later on when we take another sleeper ...
