Vang Vieng

Vang Vieng!!

I us preguntareu, que coi es aixo?

El tubing consisteix en …

Luang Parabang

Elephant riding & bathing

A travel blog entry by batgirl

Have always wanted to do elephant riding. Was thinking of doing it in Chiang Mai (TH) but I think it would be cheaper to do it in Laos. So hard to choose which tour operator to book. Also, there's the ethical issue i.e. elephants are apparently tortured when young to train them (by mahouts). They undergo tough childhood i.e. hooks, sharp objects to …

Magical waterfall

Luang Prabang was a lovely place to explore and the highlight for me, was visiting a beautiful just outside the city. It was breathtaking and hopefully the pictures should tell the story :-)

Laos, I'm completely and utterly in love with this beautiful country. The people, the food, the landscape, the architecture, all are absolutely wonderful. It reminds me of Vietnam and Cambodia, relatively unscathed by tourism (or at least that's how these countries seemed when I visited them five years ago) and still retaining a certain innocence. …

Everything was fine, except for one thing: the dorm has poor ventilation. So everything tends to my musty smelling and dark and dingy. Good luck in rainy weather! Other than that, the staff are OK. and one more thing, you have to have your own clothesline. :)

Rooms were clean and quiet for the price. Toilets were disgusting and I did not see anyone clean them the whole time we were there. The smell was that bad we could smell it from the room. Shame... let this wee place down
