      Day 4 - San Francisco

It's now 08:30am and everyone is still very much asleep.....we intend taking it easy today, just wandering he city, particularly Union Square. Interesting to note that whilst large retailers were in abundance in New York they were spread far and wide where as in San Francisco they seem to more clustered together, so shopping should be much easier. Shopping is likely to just be looking because a) we have no space for anything more and b) funds are drying ...

      Amazing, but very thought provoking.

Whether the shelters perhaps don't open until later on in the evening, or maybe the opportunity to gather some money isn't missed during those hours when people are still out eating and drinking. I'm aware that San Francisco isn't the only place that has a problem with people who are homeless, I come from a city, I've seen it before - but there's something about a place that seems so affluent having issues like these that really strikes me. The bridge itself is spectacular enough, but also getting a chance to see the iconic Alcatraz out ...

... I just wasn’t in the mood. We went past city hall where ‘Harvey Milk’ was shot dead. (The first openly gay politician that lobbied for equal rights in the 70's. Watch the movie ‘Milk’, starring Sean Penn and his Oscar award winning performance.) I also went to the bridge and travelled over it, which was ...

      And in the end....

... on so we shoved off to get back to our room.On our drive through the city, we saw some crazy places...The first couple's hotel was in a house with the hotel's name written on the outside!!! I mumbled....where did they find this place? The next couple? He was old she was young, got off in the porno area of the city...one topless place after another.....they were french....their hostel as the driver told us where they were ...
