They even had a rally here not that long ago to raise the minimum wage so people can try to make ends meet. They still can't, so they live out of town where it's cheaper and commute in. Today, we got on a bus, the hop on, hop off kind where you can listen to a guide give his spiel on landmarks in the city and get off at any of the 20 stops to explore some more. This guide sounded like a commercial radio announcer. The enthusiasm seemed much less sincere. The photo ops were too quick which is understandable when driving in traffic. Until we found Alfred's Steakhouse that was down an alley near our hotel. It has been open since 1928 and the food was delicious. We had also been told to check out the Bay Bridge lights. So after dinner we took a walk down Washington Avenue towards the bridge. I also wanted to check it out as there is a Baskin Robbins on the way. So we went to ...

... to city life enough for that! Glowing with reunion and new people energy we were ready for decompression the next morning. We got a much delayed start and ended up going to Desiree's 9am brunch by noon. We ran into some characters out in the street, Andy and Bunny, and wandered upstairs. I helped bedazzle all our guests and helped costume everyone. Brian and I went for matching leopard clothes. Decompression was as close to burning man as I could imagine ...
