... We too can't take the winters. We headed down the road toward our next destination, Niagara Falls via Palmyra, NY. We got as far as South Bend, IN., home of Notre Dame University. We found a Walmart that would let us boondock in their parking lot with all the big rigs. We made some dinner and then carefully climbed in bed (no the bed is not fixed yet). ... We ended up in a quaint little town called New Buffalo, Michigan. It had a beautiful beach, a nice little pier and a park for kids to play at. Annalena was also ready for a stop because she had just slept 6 of the 7 hours we were in the car already. :)

I know we'd been to Amish Acres about 3 weeks ago, but only managed a couple of hours at that time. So I was delighted when Paul booked an overnight package.
Boy i was so hot and humid when we arrived yesterday afternoon, so it wasn't easy to lug our many bags up a flight of stairs to the floor above. I thought OMG it's not got air con, as the hallway had nothing, but whew relief when we got into our spacious room.

... bottles for ice and then you can drink the bottles. I know freezing bottles is said to be bad. One or two bottles won't kill you. Costco bag and beach bag is needed for food and keeping beach towels. We used those for carrying things on the go. Rice milk worked great because they don't need to be refrigerated and they come in small containers. Great for cereal breakfast in the morning. Less clothing though it's hard to judge the weather.
