We loved our room here. A nice queen bed with A/C, blue tile floors, a balcony and private bathroom with hot water for 850B/night. Quiet and clean with a friendly staff too.

The rooms are clean and the linens smell nice.

The staff is honest (I accidentally overpaid-the staff found the error and corrected it..also I left my visa at the front desk-- they had it set aside for me)

The Wild Orchid is a short walk away from Khao San Road so it is a quieter place to stay.

The restaurant is expensive for Bangkok.

To get here from the airport you will most likely be dropped off on a side road and told to walk down an alleyway at the 7/11..just know this (it's fine).

I recommend to use the wild orchid website-they have a card you can print off with directions for your cabbie (in Thai)

This place was a great place to come to when first arriving in Bangkok. It was 5 mins from Koasan, so it was nice because you don't get the noise.

Beautiful restaurant area with cute elephant carved stalls. Internet area is cheap and easy to use. Staff are easy to understand and efficient. The room although was small, had a huge bed, was very clean. Bathroom also very clean. The whole place was bright, colourful and appealing. We paid 800 baht for a double which was a good place to stay on our first 2 nights. The food was also very good, tasty flavours and a wide choice of food and drink.

I arrived at the hotel where we are staying for a few days. Wild Orchid Villas. I scouted around to see if I could recognise anyone from my Facebook stalking. Nope. I headed to to the room feeling nervous and excited. Quick change then my room mate arrived. Channy (Chantelle) the most amazing bubbly Australian gal. She instantly hugged me and told …

After getting off the plane to Bangkok, we were picked up by one of our tour guides, Matt. He was waiting there for us, along with two other group members who had recently gotten off their flights. Driving through Bangkok for the first time was interesting because we got to see several main streets and they all had one unusual thing in common - …

I've been trying to think of the appropriate way to sum up our time in Bangkok. So far I have a number of adjectives in my head, none of which really do this city justice. Bangkok is a vibrant, crazy city where everything is traditional yet strikingly modern all at the same time. A place which screams of contradictions; the rich and the poor, the …

As I write this we are currently laying on our beds in a little hotel called Wild Orchid Villa in central Bangkok. The air conditioning is on full blast and we are surrounded by iced water bottles. Some time has passed since my previous arrival in Asia, though I'm pleased to report China's sticky humid heat lives on down here in Thailand. In a way …

Tuesday morning we woke up at about 10am. We knew we only had to check out at 12pm so decided to nap another hour. This was a bad idea. We woke up at 11.50am, still needed to shower and pack our lives back into our bags. My stuff seems to catapult itself all over the room every time I open my bag, so this was going to be a true test of ability. 20 …
