We loved our room here. A nice queen bed with A/C, blue tile floors, a balcony and private bathroom with hot water for 850B/night. Quiet and clean with a friendly staff too.

The rooms are clean and the linens smell nice.

The staff is honest (I accidentally overpaid-the staff found the error and corrected it..also I left my visa at the front desk-- they had it set aside for me)

The Wild Orchid is a short walk away from Khao San Road so it is a quieter place to stay.

The restaurant is expensive for Bangkok.

To get here from the airport you will most likely be dropped off on a side road and told to walk down an alleyway at the 7/11..just know this (it's fine).

I recommend to use the wild orchid website-they have a card you can print off with directions for your cabbie (in Thai)

This place was a great place to come to when first arriving in Bangkok. It was 5 mins from Koasan, so it was nice because you don't get the noise.

Beautiful restaurant area with cute elephant carved stalls. Internet area is cheap and easy to use. Staff are easy to understand and efficient. The room although was small, had a huge bed, was very clean. Bathroom also very clean. The whole place was bright, colourful and appealing. We paid 800 baht for a double which was a good place to stay on our first 2 nights. The food was also very good, tasty flavours and a wide choice of food and drink.

    The aftermath

A travel blog entry by eddlauren on May 10, 2015

9am. Time to get up. We're both still drunk. We got dressed, brushed our teeth, did our utmost to look presentable and then all went to McDonalds for breakfast. Nothing like a cardboard burger to ease away a pending hangover. Oh wait, egg Mc Muffin job, they only do burgers after 11am. Bummer.

We then walked in the direction of the bus …

We had a lie in until 9am and then decided it was time to get up. It was hard to gage what time of day it was in a room with no windows: it always seemed to be midnight.
We showered, got dressed and made our way to the bus stop – we were going to one of the biggest shopping centres in the world and decided to take the local transport …

Well it took us 1.5 hours to get through the impressive queue at customs. Said queue did not get shorter, more planes landed and the queue remained consistently long; we were glad to get out of it and fetch our bags.

We caught a train to Phaya Thai in Bangkok and immediately started a conversation with a family from Denmark, who commented …

Tuesday morning we woke up at about 10am. We knew we only had to check out at 12pm so decided to nap another hour. This was a bad idea. We woke up at 11.50am, still needed to shower and pack our lives back into our bags. My stuff seems to catapult itself all over the room every time I open my bag, so this was going to be a true test of ability. 20 …
