Awake early. a little apprehensive as the enormity of what I am taking on is suddenly a reality. Some of the hills that I observed coming through Devon on the train looked quite daunting!!, Still, that is what the challenge is all about, and I am as ready for it as I will ever be. ... also stopped in the town of Truro, for some lunch. Luckily we also had time to stop into their cathedral very quickly. I was very impressed. I did not expect such a small town to have such a beautiful cathedral, and one that was very well organized for tourists (it even had a giftshop). It just goes to show you that sometimes the simplest places have the best suprises. ...

I spent a lovely week in Cornwall over Christmas seeing my Mum each day and visiting various towns and villages near the Lizard where I was staying. The harbour at Coverack by night was a magical scene with Christmas lights and decorations illuminating the small fishing boats in the harbour. I also took a couple of walks to my favourite places anywhere in the world - Kynance Cove and Lizard Point. The sunsets at this time of the year are truly spectacular. ...
