... UNESCO (which I would love to work for someday), the International Bureau of Education, a professor of the Graduate Institute, and a collaborator from a journal. Overall pretty successful.

On Wednesday my friend Ace and I took a trip up to Zurich to use up our free train day pass. When we got up to Zurich we met up with two boys, one that Ace knew through a friend, and they showed us around Zurich. We walked down the ...

Last Stop- Lucerne

(Steve)

After trying to find somewhere to stay in Zurich and finding nothing reasonably priced, we opted to stay in Lucerne about an hour away and just do a day trip into Zurich. Lucerne was really nice, we enjoyed our last few days in Europe and managed to do just a bit more walking.Being another smaller town, we were able to walk around most of it in a day - the old town was built on a river along with an old covered ...

SNOW!! Who knew a Canadian would be so excited!?!

... near the train station does! And get this (European movie theatres are ridiculous!), we could buy the tickets for the other theatre at this one, and they are reserved seating so the guy asked us where we wanted to sit...we were confused at first but just told him to pick wherever he though was good. So we headed towards the train station...and then it dawned on us how early we really were...HOURS early. So we went to grab a bite to eat...and ...

... Alpes. Fascinating about a man whose father died trying to climb the Eiger and how he trained for years to accomplish what his Dad could not. The views were breathtaking I gasped and grabbed Dan's leg quite a few times. We did manage this time to find the ear sets with the English translation, it was much better. Trying to get to the car we got so drenched we headed back to change clothes. I had spotted a vinegar place the night before but it was closed (because of St ...

... The boat ride passed through some amazing scenery including large mountains and lakeside Swiss towns. After about an hour we de-boarded and got on a cog-wheel train that ascended the mountain itself. The ride up was very steep and we saw the scenery change from bright green grass to a snow filled wonderland. The top of the mountain was at about 2000 meters and provided some ...

Day 18 - Zurich

... river. In the city the prices for food were astronomical, double that of the Austrian and Bavarian cities. We were feeling a bit poor and disorientated so we settled for our first feed of Maccas for the trip. $27 for 2 burger meals. In the morning we went to an address that (according to our 6 year old Lonely Planet) housed a Lindt Factory with free chocy give aways. It must have moved. We left Zurich feeling pretty ****** off with the whole Zurich experience.

Swiss Family Tuckwell

Trivia Time- who is older? a) Harrison Ford b) Chuck Norris c) Mick Jagger d) Paul Macartney Answer at the bottom of the page. Hello all. Mike has tired fingers, I've told him he'll go blind next, so it is I Vinny typing this update. Also due to the fact that we stayed with my family in Switzerland Mike felt it would be in better taste if I donated my one finger typing skills to this entry. So I now have the pressure of having to try and compete with the ...

TP#49: Uetliberg Hike and Santa Preparations

... cloud cover. Everyone climbed the tower for a better look. When finished gazing, they walked in the direction of the S-Bahn station at the top of the ridge, but then decided to hike the sledding trail down. Although not as steep as the trail they took coming up, it is much longer (3 km). Several groups of people were sledding along the trail in the higher areas where there was snow, and there were also families lighting candles along the side of the trail on the way ...
