... the traffic mostly benign. Taking a couple of bikes and a map, we set off, dripping with sweat before we'd barely gone a mile. All very scenic and lovely and rather nice to get some exercise after the mainly lazy few weeks in Vietnam.

On getting to the river, we jumped (stepped carefully) on a bamboo raft and sailed down the very busy Li river. Just in case we were relaxing just a little too much, our raftsman took great pleasure in directing us down what were ...

Un altre dia vam anar a classe de cal·ligrafia xinesa amb un mestre que ensenyava a la casa-museu d’un pintor famós xinès, Xu Beihong. Tot un art. Ens va agradar tant que vam ...

We got to see the scene that is featured on the back of the 20 yuan note here in China so that was neat! It was funny too, to see these men on bamboo rafts who would paddle up and hook themselves on the side of our boat and try to sell us fruit through that window haha!

... Yao. It was a trip full of unwanted surprises. First, the connecting bus from Guilin to Huang Yao was late - it reached Gao Tian Lu Kou (高田路口) at 10.30 am instead of 9.40 am. Second, we were charged ¥50 per person even though we boarded the bus on a highway outside Yangshuo. Third, the journey required two hours - it would reach Huang Yao at 12.30 pm. Fourth, the last bus back to Guilin or Yangshuo would leave at 1.30 pm. It would not be possible ...
