    ... it to run the water wheel and mill the rice. Guilin and Yangshuo were amazing places to finish up our time in China. The next day was all day travel to the Perhentian Islands in Malaysia which I had never heard of. We are only going here as we had a week to burn due to my China visa issue. I doubt I will have much to write though beyond....beautiful chalk white sand, blue blue sea, lounge, swim, snorkel, read, eat, sleep and repeat. So I must go and start my day at the beach ...

    ... lunch and there meet another 8 people who had come from Shanghai to join us. We have a bit more variety of nationality in the group now which is nice. That afternoon some of us did a cooking course which was really good. It started off with a tour of the local market.     ... it's a mash up of China town and Ibiza town, where dumplings meet pole dancing clubs. Again I will stress that despite it's self deprecation as a tourist town it offers relaxation not often experienced in China combined with some of the friendliest people you could wish to meet.

    Before we could cook we needed to go to the market to buy some of the ingredients. The market was a mixed bag - the first section was great; so many fruits and vegetables, some of them huge compared to what we get at home.
