    ... of the Land's End headland and wish it still had the original charm Cape Cornwall has retained. Surprisingly the whole headland is privately owned and much of it is dominated by commercial development, including a fun park, hotel and shopping complex. I didn't think it was too bad; the key section of the headland that is in fact the most westerly point in England has nothing on it but The First and Last Café in England.

    ... forward to seeing, the apparently cute village of Mousehole, and I'm hoping the tides will be kind to me so I can walk across to St Michael's Mount, and it will be fun to say I've been to Lands End. I was also looking forward to seeing Penzance the final destination of the walk on Friday, but I'm told it has fallen on tough times and is quite run down and unattractive nowadays..

    ... heading for Marazion, in view two miles further round the bay).This gave us an opportunity to briefly explore this famous Cornish town with its once grand old hotels and boarding houses, the legacy of bygone holiday eras. Still very attractive, the town has many excellent buildings, a nice village feel town centre and a lovely waterfront promenade.

    ... she reckoned the queues were too long! Two weeks after returning to Oz, she needed life threatening emergency surgery for secondary cancer in the bowel. Her survival was just one of miracles Cate pulled off.)

    ... to catch up on emails, etc. .Dinner tonight is planned in one of the better restaurants.

    And it was very good, food and service. I sat at an upstairs window on the harbour's edge just in time to see the tide coming in. And didn't it come in fast? When I arrived at 6.00 pm all the boats were still sitting firmly on the sand, but within 40 minutes they were all afloat!
