... joined a Frisby team and were here for a few days as part of their tour. They were a really nice gang. We're trying the buffets here that they have all along the beach. Crab wasn't great but today they had a lovely suckling pig all laid out with his crispy skin! Yum pork chops! Only 4 euro each. Going out again tonight and we're going to try walking a bit further down the beach than ...

Had a great night out! Sipping rum and coke by our room, when we were invited to join the owner and staff to eat yummy banana cakes stoln from a nearby hotel. They were lovely crowd ...

... for those of you complaining about the cold in Ireland! Bites aside we've been studying hard for our open water dive licenses. Its fairly tough going in this heat but were having fun. Breathing underwater takes a bit of getting used to but as anyone who's done it before will know its an amazing experience. We did some classroom and shallow water lessons yesterday morning to get the basics down. In the afternoon we were brought out to an open dive site that is ...
Boracay, Visayas, Philippines alandrach... re-inforced it with some waterproof tape... It's funny how different this camera looks than it did when it came in the mail! Finally on the boat, we surveyed until 5:45PM when it was getting dark and CHILLY! After unloading & showering, we walked down to Casa Pilar for dinner. It's a well-put together restaurant that my Mom would probably find romantic, on the beach. :) I ...
Boracay, Philippines mandy13082... is that upset they can donate about a thousand pounds and we will be more than happy to get an underwater camera and take some of us zipping around and the inevitable phot of bloomin nemo they're called clown fish for pitys sake. Sun 11th: Sad to go and wanting to just keep diving forever who wouldn't when the visibility to 24m and the water temperature is 28 degrees!! We head out yet again racking up the modes of transport its tricycle, boat and bus to Iloilo.
Boracay, Philippines billandsarah... out of your joints, in order to avoid DCI or decompression illness which can make you quite sick. It is a very risky sport, but so much fun. We ascended and hmmmm, no Blue Mango boat in sight. YIKES!!! I was wearing bright yellow fins and took one off and waved it in the air so they, or other boats, might spot us. We waited and waited, then began swimming towards the shore so we could sit on the beach and wait if need be. The beach is ...
Boracay Island, Philippines mandy13082... here. Their shakes are so smooth, cool and refreshing, you'll want to try all the flavours in the menu. You can choose from fruits like mango, strawberry, melon, banana pineapple, or combine them. For an extra kick, there's milk, vanilla ice cream, chocolate, rum. We ordered take away served in a plastic water bottle with a straw. We then continued on with our beach walk. Along the way, we ...
Boracay, Aklan, Philippines bluesummit... in the sun turning a delicious shade of pink. A blanket of dark clouds crawled low across the south side of the island and seemed to stay there indefinately for the rest of the trip, but never actually got around to dumping a hefty load of water on us. As the first wonderful day turned into night we strolled up the beach to a pizza place that cooked with a real woodfire - something truly lacking in korea. As we ate our meal all the lights went out, which is apparently ...
Boracay, Philippines katshannon... been here and have been trying to find ways of cutting costs where I can. One of the ways I have tried to do this is eating cheaply. If you venture beyond the main strip into the village you can find really good filipino food at more than reasonable prices. One morning I fancied eggs for the first time since Myanmar where we were served them everyday as part od our complimentary breakfast that all guesthouse's offer. I always opt for boiled eggs as when they fry them in Asia it tends to ...
