... within his home. We liked the layout with a nice big kitchen, plenty of space in the bedroom and 2 balconies. After spending the first day in Hvar trekking to a remote beach near Milna, we decided to extend our stay in Hvar to 6 nights because we really enjoyed the accommodations and the island of Hvar. While on our walk to the beach, the native plants were very aromatic and picturesque. Rosemary grows wild in large bushes, ...

Hvar 26th July to 16th August

Wow, Croatia has been awesome to us for the first leg of our European adventure.

We had a relatively eventless journey from Gatwick & an overnight stay in Split. We awoke early and had a wander around the port area of Split. ... faces, then we got served up a pretty delicious meal. Mine was a baked penne with veggies. Yummy! We had some beers then shared a couple of bottles of wine with Eilleen and Melissa, then after a while we were almost the only people left! Melissa went to the bathroom and the three of us moved up a few tables to sit with the only other people left here, a couple of couples, Tim and Katie, and Tiarni and Matt. After a while we realized Melissa had been gone for a while, so ...

We caught the night train from Salzberg to Zagreb which left at 1:30am. Luckily we could add a sleeper to the Eurail for €33. Slept for about 4 hours and woke up at Ljubljana then we trained through the forest, mountains and by little villages to Zagreb. For the first time we were checked by immigration / customs at the border of Slovenia and Croatia. At Zagreb we discovered that there was no train today so we would have to catch the bus. It took some working out as not much ...
