Helloooo there... Just one update for the whole of Laos I'm afraid, as otherwise we're going to get waaay behind! Firstly, this is our favourite country so far - what an amazing place! The people are so friendly, the scenery is stunning, the food amazing and the whole country just ridiculously chilled, you never get shouted at, or nearly run-over, or conned into buying something for 10 times the price. Basically, Laos is lovely! We flew into Luang Prabang in the north, and found it to be the ...
Luang Prabang, Lao Peoples Dem Rep sar-and-sag Well we really enjoyed our time in Vientiane. Ate fresh squid barbecued by the river, visited a few temples and chilled out for a day or two.
Following an arduous journey here - one we're glad not to have to do in reverse! We got the last two seats at the very back of a so called VIP bus. The seats slipped and slid all the way as the coach constantly bumped up and down causing me to hit my head on the light fitting above on more than one occasion!! Also each time we tried to drink wate...
... kind, expertly sewn and very colourful, silver jewelry, and so on... It's impeccable and very well organised. If the remainder of our trip wasn't still so long, we'd be haggling away and buying a bunch of things. The market is open every single night between 5 and 10 pm, and it seems to take an enormous amount of effort to set up and to remove, for the amount of sale and revenue they actually make. Competition is fierce and product differentiation is very low ...

It was delicious but I was already quite full. His son came home and suddenly saw himself burdened with the task of taking the 'falang' out to the weaving villages on his motorbike. He didn't seem particularly enthusiastic about this task his father had bestowed upon him, but off we went. I was wearing ...

The village was not mentioned in any guidebooks - yet. It seemed like this was a place where we could stay with some village Lao people and get to appreciate their way of life.
