      Day 25: We take the three and a half hour bus from Havana to Vinales and it's a nice drive. There are almost no cars on the road (other than a handful of rentals), only horse and carts. Or ox and carts. Or bicyclists. We squeeze through small streets in little villages in the Pinar del Rio region and some of the locals wave at our bus from their doorstep. Our bus driver makes a couple of unannouced stops, to buy his vegetables for dinner and so forth. ...

      Tuesday 3 September 2013 The 9am tour today is of the nearby tabacco farm. Great guide with lots of info about actual Cuban life. He thought they had been having an economic crisis since 1959. We visited one of the local tabacco farmer's farm. 3 generations again living together. As it is winter they are just starting to grow the tabacco seedlings from seed you buy from the government ready for planting out in December.Interesting to watch ...

      ... as a few minutes later we saw a mother and daughter hanging out clothes.... Cuban style!
      We wandered around the little town, buying some tomatoes and bananas from the fruit sellers on the corner of the street.
