    ... ground - it looks like a film set. The only thing that appears to have survived is a giant plastic shrimp on a stand: that certainly puts a new slant on "throw another shrimp on the barbie"! I pass Lake Macquarie (Australia's biggest coastal lake apparently), and again it is suddenly time to seek out food. There are loads of McDonalds and service stations but I am not that desperate yet!     ... fires will continue to rage. In good news we received quite a few compliments on our coaching this week. It was good to hear as neither of us is exactly Beth Tweddle, clearly all that time dedicated to the cheese is paying off. The birthday girl was informed of part 2 of her birthday week, a trip to The Hunter Valley AKA wine country.     ... train early yesterday morning so we could spend the day in Newcastle before the race. Newcastle is a small coastal town that's a couple hours north of Sydney.
