Our last day - booooo!

Well it's now Sunday and sadly we leave tomorrow. We've had a lovely last day with our time split between the beach and pools and enjoyed lots of lilo fun. We are sad to be leaving because we don't want to have to go back and do thinking and jobs. The only good thing about leaving tomorrow is that the world's most annoying group of Americans arrived last night with unbelievably loud voices whooping and hollering over the most ridiculous things, carrying massive flasks and ...

Hello! Sorry we haven't written for a few days but our internet signal has been almost non-existent so we haven't been able to post anything. Since we last wrote, we have had to make some really difficult decisions - for example: Pool or beach? What time shall we get up? Buffet or a la carte restaurant? Which cocktail should we have? Well yesterday (Saturday) was a funny old day. We were meant to be going on a trip to the national park but Simon had poo problems during the night and he wasn't feeling well so we decided to postpone it until Wednesday. Under our door they posted a warning about Tropical Storm Bertha which ...

We should've headed warnings; the universe was talking to us.

One week before our departure we started planning travel food for the boy…when the flights were, what meals we could expect to have served on each flight. Rather than guess, I decided to log on to Continental’s website. I pulled up our itinerary, and SURPRISE, they had moved the 2nd leg of our flight to commence before the first leg of the flight - something that might sound good ...

Bacardi Island & Land of Mamajuana

Cayo Levantado is a tiny island off the Samana Peninsula in the Dominican Republic. It is better known as Bacardi Island as the beach and palm trees looks like they came from a Bacardi Rum ad. Looking down upon the island from our ship, the island is small but lovely. We tendered over to it for about an hour, while other passengers headed out for excursions to Samana and beyond.
