Luang Prabang, Lao Peoples Dem Rep
Pretty cruisy day again today. After grabbing an awesome breakfast and one of the best iced coffees ever from the friendliest person I've met in SE Asia we went back down to the boat. It was a much mellower day today, everyone was probably a bit hungover. We coasted into Luang Prabang at about 1700 and once again had an easy night, did some shopping at the night markets and got a feed before heading back to the Guesthouse for bed.
Luang Prabang, Lao Peoples Dem Rep bass_keAfter a Huge well deserved sleep in today we went out to breakfast with Suzanne, a German lass we met on the slowboat. Today we went for a walk up to a bookstore to look for some books, admired a couple of the local wats and saw some awesome photagraphy and art by the locals. We were planning to hang around Luang Prabang a little longer and check out the Pak ou caves and some waterfalls but it started to rain in the afternoon and just wouldn't give up! An executive decision was made to book s...
Luang Prabang, Lao Peoples Dem Rep bass_keTosiaan ollaan oltu jo reissussa yli kuukausi, toivottavasti ei viel lopu... Luang Prabang on pieni mut asiallinen kaupunki. Nahtavaa on ainakin noita temppeleita, pari eri vesiputousta ja norsu camp. Lisaksi muutama luola ja ohan toi Mekong-joki myoskin nahtavyys. Eilen ei tehty juuri mitaan. Nukuttiin myohaan, tutustutttiin jalkaisin kaupunkiin ja safkattiin pari kertaa. Ihan sika hyvia rafloja paljon, mut edelleen; aika kalliita. Netti bungaa onneksi alle dollarin tunti, et voi vaikka kirjo...
Luang Prabang, Lao Peoples Dem Rep miiajussiWell, we survived our first trip on Lao Airlines! We touched down in Luang Prabang late on Saturday and tuk-tuk'ed it straight to the riverside where we discovered a great little guesthouse with a restaurant overlooking the river and fairy lights everywhere. Although we couldn't actually see the river, we pronounced it to be a wonderful view and the most beautiful city we had been to so far! It was also amazingly peaceful as the drivers are not so 'horn-happy' - in fact, we didn't hear a sing...
Luang Prabang, Lao Peoples Dem Rep tomfroehle... on stilts, complete with two double beds. It's nice to have a little luxury every now and then, although we did have to wear some rather fetching stone-washed denim mahout (elephant trainer) outfits, Paul was convinced he’d joined Bros!

After settling in we met three of the rescued elephants who resided in the sanctuary. It was great to get so close to them and nice to see such magnificent creatures not behind bars in a zoo. Our first ...

Luang Prabang, Lao Peoples Dem Rep blummo
Work here is good. It's slow, but very relaxing and laid back. A typical day consists of getting up around 7:45. I catch a hot shower because this is the only time of day that you can take a hot shower and not step out sweating. I check the clock and make sure it's not 8 yet. It's not pertinent that I'm in there before 8, we're on Laos time, I just like to be prompt. It's 7:55, I throw some clothes on and walk into the lobby/main room of the hostel. Ou, Pheung, and the two ...
