... Like all of these places, the free time to meander tomorrow afternoon will delve into the recesses of the location.

Headed up as far as the Alexander Nevski cathedral. A service was going on so I put away the camera and listened. As usual, it was mostly older folks present but some young gave some hope for the future.

Was quite hungry so opted for supermarket items of cold cuts, camembert and a local beer 3.64 E . Wish the latter was cooler.

Today was a really nice day in Tallinn. The first thing I had to do this morning was get all my stuff out of Tallinn Backpackers and move over to United Backpackers. I would have been happy to stay another night at the original hostel, but they were completely booked for tonight, so I had to find an alternative. ... and I wasn't in a hurry to put it down. I really should have just used this thing known as the 'internet' to look up what time sunset was going to be in Tallinn that night, but I didn't bother and guessed it wrong instead. I didn’t see any of the five Euro shoes that I liked, but I then spotted a pair, in my size (37) that I just had to have. They are a sort of beige colour but they have metal studs and spikes at the toe and some more studs and spikes at the heel, as well as a 5” stiletto heel. Talk about kick-**** shoes! ...

Most perfectly preserved medieval city in Europe

... realise it's done.

The hotel itself is apparently the longest continually operating hotel in Tallinn, which is quite something. Our room is right at the end of a corridor, and has a window in a 2 metre thick wall onto a lovely interval courtyard, so is as quiet as a tomb. Probably a good thing as the "street" (really more of a pedestrian mall) in the front is one of the main routes up to the upper city and could, ...
