    Getting Ready

A travel blog entry by cruisinseniors on Jun 24, 2015

Today I spent most of the day getting ready to depart this area tomorrow. We want to leave NLT 9 am since it is a long drive. Will probably drive straight up 281 to I-20 then east and drive around Fort Worth. So today I checked all the fluids, re-caulked above the awning over the big window. Every time it rains, water flows down the window. The ...

Bob took the car in to get it inspected since we won't be in Texas during July and was told that we didn't need to have it inspected until Dec. We sort of ...

... in which meant unhooking everything before the wind ripped the awning off the side of the coach.

We visited for a while then went for a walk. It was While R & R and I were gone that the wind came up. Luckily Ronny & Linda had arrived and were able to help Bob get things in. That did sort of up a crimp in our dining out plans. So Rodney braved the rain (only light showers by this time) to grill the steaks and we ate inside. We all had a nice visit, ate too much, ...

... careers. Despite their crazy, out-of-synch, and demanding schedules, we were able to find a couple of days where we could visit with them, check out their new home and sample the famous weird Austin vibe!

The "Keep Austin Weird" slogan now reaches far beyond a marketing campaign. Austin is the self-proclaimed "live music capital of the world" and, based on what we have heard and what we experienced, the people ...
