Oh my ... We just had the scariest ride since we got to SE Asia. The ferry trip from Koh Samet back to Ban Phe was uneventful. The bus to Bangkok left an hour later than we thought it would, but we walked around the little town of Ban Phe and then read. The bus ride was long - we are not sure what our driver was doing, but he seemed to take the back roads rather than the freeway. It ...

... from the originals to C for the really poorly made cheapest ones. We went straight to the top floor with the idea of working our way down the levels but 5 hours later we hadn't made our way through half the top floor! ... early. Breakfast by the ocean and a walk down the road led to some wishful thinking on our part. Scooter through the island?? Heck yes! Umm, heck no. That idea was short lived as we quickly realized neither of us could handle such a powerful machine. We both decided it was impossible to steer, especially due to it's only one speed. Extremely fast. So we opted for an ATV instead. Surely we could handle THAT. And by golly, we did. Well Steph did. She drove the whole time (and let's ...

... full day of work in Bangkok. Keli and I looked at each other stunned. My heart sank as I remembered the first day we met. He only asked for 20b, but after a full day of running us around we gave him 300b, only $10. "Oh yes, this makes me very happy!", he said. Even though food and goods in thailand are very cheep, I still couldn't imagine how he manages to live life. He has only been a Tuk Tuk driver for two years, before that he worked in a factory ...
