I had a few specific things I wanted to do: visit the Archives at the local Library, go to the cemetery and see if I could find my great-grandparent's grave, have a look at my father's family home, go to the "Dock Museum" which tells all about the history of the local area and lastly & visit the Furness Abbey - an abbey (just outside the town) that was built in 1127. ... Leisure Park. We were expecting a nice relaxing time after the time we had at the Haven site in Porthmadog. How wrong can you be! It seems that dogs are not welcome at all on this site and aren't allowed anywhere near the central entertainment hub. Oh well we are only here till Wednesday, should have been Friday but we have to return to Birmingham and then back to Harlech by the end of the week. Man we like ...

... Should we stay were we are? Too late now as we have a site booked in Cumbria from Sunday to Friday. Horrible journey but as we hit Southport we thought at least we are here and it looks as if it might be ok as there were signs for a 'music and fireworks extravaganza'. Theres a site!
