    ... got distracted and it took me at least twice that time. On the way there I detoured by the Roosevelt monument and the Martin Luther King monument. Then when I was taking pictures of the Jefferson memorial from across the water I saw a heron tucked around the corner almost out of sight. He was a beaut. I spent a long time taking pictures and watching him stood on one leg all snuggled up into his feathers. He even let me get pretty close at one point before glaring at me ...

    ... was a great experience and very All American. The route was somewhat difficult, the hills were not big by any means but they hit at perfect times. The cheers were great although the roads were too wide (maybe for later finishers, the majority of participants, it was better and necessary). It would have been nice to see friends along the route, something you canīt guarantee. Maybe I should have used the many I decided not. That day before shopping did come in handy ...

    ... park. As soon as i walked in i went to the Reservoir and then began walking in the park. I walked down a few streets, walked past the Egyptian obelisk and got to the Met. Inside the Met i got a ticket – paid with a "donation". I then wandered around this museum focusing on the Egyptian, Greek, byzantine and then Roman stuff. There is lots to see in this museum, i left the museum only seeing a small part of it. Another place to go back to.
