Our new goto stop off for KL. Cheap, clean, quite, convenient location and relaxed vibe along with helpful staff. Good internet available in all rooms it seems.

We needed to fly back into Thailand for our 30 day visa so thought we may aswell spend two days before exploring Kuala Lumpur. It was huuuuuuge!! And probably one of the first city's that I really loved, there was so much shopping!! Safe to say it did not agree with my budget but I kept in better control than I thought! There was a free bus around …

So day 3 after a great 9 hour sleep for me, feel almost back to myself, Al however was awake early so took his wee skipping rope to go and do exercise outside the hostel. our hostel included breakfast so got toast and coffee to start the day.

Al navigated us to the national museum which was interesting, finding out the Portuguese invaded …

Hi. So here goes our first proper blog post. On 1st November we set off at 7am leaving Edinburgh airport with a slightly emotional goodbye to our family. We flew to London first where we caught our Malaysian Airlines connection flight to Kuala Lumpur. After our 12 and a half hour flight we had arrived with our body clocks completely out of sync as …

Malaysia feels so efficient for us now, you wait for the bus on the east coast, you get on a clean fast comfy bus and four hours later your back in KL. You wizz round on the local trains and you can be where you need to be with no fuss, I don't think the rest of Asia will be this easy to explore.

Next stop was the Grand Palace where out of pure luck the King of Malaysia was arriving with his fleet of many vehicles and although we were asked to stand well back I managed to get a cheeky selfie as his car passed us.
The final two stops were at the war memorial which houses the largest free standing brass memorial in the world and independence square where the tour guide told us numerous times (in fact he ...
