Milos and the beach!

... we managed to get a shot of me jumping off ten+ meter cliffs into the ocean. Mirna conquered her fear of heights and jumped of a very large rock, without screaming. We then just lay around in the sun, and fell deeper in love with Milos. Besides the heavenly water, and sparkling beaches there is, how shall i put it, cheese. Yesterday we ate the best grilled and spicy goats cheese. And for a couple cursed with lactose intolerance we can proudly say it was worth it.

Man, this is windy!!

... risk you being swept in the sea!

By the next day the Meltemi winds were so bad that you could not go to the beach because of the blowing sands. So, we found a small bar near the beach where we could play Canasta, use our computer, and drink wine. The owner of the bar turned out to me a middle aged American woman from Tulsa, Oklahoma. She had come to Greece for a summer during college and stayed for 25 years! She and her Greek husband ran the bar and enjoyed living on Sifnos ...

The best island in Greece

... green stones native to the island. The streets intersect at several beautiful and very small town squares lined with small outdoor taverns which are draped in colorful bougainvillea flowers and shaded with a couple of large trees. This small town is the classic, picturesque example of the beauty of the Greek islands. At night, the older locals gather in the squares to gossip while the children run around and play games. We watched it ...

... to kill you on the spot". But you will die with a smile. After lunch - we decided to go to a small fishing village 7 minutes from Trivassalos. Driving down, toward the sea, on the street of Costa's Tavern, you beguine To follow the road in tortuous alleys until you reach a T road. To the right There is the way to Sinopy. To the left you reach Klima. We decided to go For Klima first. In a few minutes we reached the village. As always my wife opted for ...

Discovering the beauty of Folegandros

... fruit and vegetable stores, which are all quite good and cheap.

We had breakfast in one of the many cafes on the square and began to plan today's itinerary. We decided to rent an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) aka a quad bike for us to explore the island and started walking around the village to find a bike rental shop. Found one at the fringe of the village – Lignos Stelios ...

1st day in Folegandros

... with air-conditioning and wide screen television up the front.

Upon arrival at the port in Folegandros, we joined the other tourists to take the local bus from the Port to the centre of the island, a village called Chora. Argi had carefully selected and booked a room for us in Hotel Castro, situated in the centre of Chora, inside the
ancient castle wall of the island.

... and the restaurant was closed and the cherry on the top was the campsite was 7kms away from any shop or restaurant. So we decided that we would go back into town and rent a room for the remaining time we were here. Milos is a very active mining island - its quite sad that we feel as if the island is being somewhat destroyed as the mines are being left after they have finished mining one ...

Milos an island of colours and rocks that are art!

... at a beautiful white washed bar overhanging the ocean below! Milos was definitely one of the highlights of the cruise, great beaches, nightlife and even one of the most famous sculptures of the ancient world, Venus de Milo- was found here on the island by a farmer. Before of course some French tourists bought it from him and took it too a little museum known locally as the Louvre. It was my second favorite island and l would highly recommend it to anybody visiting the Greek islands!

Sifnos

Today we decided to rent a car! It is so easy to rent thing abroad, we gave them our expired driver license and they thought nothing of it.haha. We did some off roading down some really hairy dirt paths that went right along the cliffs right down to the ocean, had the best time just driving around and exploring. So then decided that we want to drive ...

Milos - Greek Paradise

... too much as we have a dinner to attend so I will conclude. Milos is amazing. Hills, white houses and crystal clear water. I would attach some photo's but Yiayia only has dial-up Internet and the downloading would take to long. I'll try to be descriptive. Beautiful weather, beautiful landscape, beautiful people and two beautifully tanned bodies. Paradise. We are planning to do some more hard work here and when some more stories pop up - you all will be the first to know.
