A lot of traveling
Today was a traveling day. We motored up the M6 to Windermere in the Lake District. It was just lovely. The views are not-to-be missed. We thought we were going to have major problems as, when we were headed for the Motorway (or Interstate), we ran into a huge traffic jam. It took us a few minutes to get through the snarl, thinking there might have …
Peter Rabbit, Wordsworth and a steam gondola
We started the day driving up to the Dove Cottage.
This is when I wished we had taken a bus tour as I wanted to be able to look at the view, not work at missing the cars around me. It simply is beautiful. Serene, calm, breathtaking were all words that came to mind as we spent time here.

Lakes District
Had a big sleep. Was going to do a short walk but when we were about to start the rain came pouring in. Arun and I decided to stay at the hostel while Pete went around Rydal and Grasmere. (Although called the Lakes District, the area only has one "lake" — Brassenthwaite.) We had pumpkin soup and a sandwich for lunch when the weather improved. Thankfully calmness was not broken, Dan was a little bewildered, and like a true bug brother reassured me that we had plenty of time. We loaded up the car and now on our way to the big ...

I cannot express how delightful the stay at this B&B was. The proprietors, Mark and Jane could not have been more accommodating. The included breakfast was much more than enough. The room was clean and airy. They cleaned the room while we were out and about. This was the best choice we have made so far.
