We drove about 187 miles yesterday and 50 today. Our phones were on roaming so they are off. Tomorrow we drive up island to get to the once a week ferry from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert leaving on Saturday. We will overnight on that ferry. We do not know what kind of signal we will have at any given point. Stay tuned...

having a lot of problems with upload of photos .....I give up for now in hopes of publishing the daily.

We had a biryani chicken dish (Leith) and I had a lamb pie both delicious.
Our room has a harbour view and is a corner room which means we have a window overlooking the entrance of the hotel. This of course will make for the 4-5 days we are spending on train bunks.
Next day was all day at the Butchart Gardens, Shuttle buses go from outside the hotel about every hour. We managed to catch the 10:15am one

... then at 1345, Pamela, Geoff and Jan all went on a nice horse and carriage ride for 1 1/2 hours around the city, very interesting and very informative too. Around 1500 I went for a walk and spent many hours down the mariner area, with lots of crafty type markets, entertainment etc, a great afternoon for all of us, and I believe No Fish were caught. 1815 G. & P. ... time to panic, and we hadn't even got through Sydney. We both ran all the way back through the terminal against the flow, which is always fun, and asked about the handbag, and luckily there it was on the bench.
"There it is" Mandy said.
"What does it look like?" said the guy.
"It's that one there".
"Can you describe it?"
So after telling him the colour and the size of the bag in his hand, he finally asked if it looked like 'this'.
