... was a huge courtyard in front of the church and there offerings were being made. No, we did not see any chickens being sacrified although that does happen. Instead the sharmans were conducting several small ceremonies around sacrificial bonfires, helping the people to get rid of their bad habits, ilnesses etc. God to take some photos, although some of them were taken so discretely that only serious croping could make them half way decent.

I suppose it ...
San Andrés Itzapa, Chimaltenango, Guatemala chrisser71... was in Mexico and as much as i'm always up for experiencing the local cultures there's only so much reggaeton you can take. Need to educate these people on the joys of techno and drum & bass!

Someone told me last night there is full moon party tonight in San Pedro which is not really what i need but am sure it will be fun. An early night and no booze would be nice but thats easier said than done.

Anyway Amigos my head's hurting so i'm outta here

Peace
Antigua Guatemala, Western Highlands, Guatemala evs1210... a home for a family in only two and a half days. We were able to spend a little bit of time with the family as we were constructing the home. They were so very grateful for such a modest home. On the final day, we crammed all of our group as well as the family of eight into this tiny, one-roomed home for a blessing ceremony. There were tears of joy shared between us all and hugs ...
Antigua Guatemala, Western Highlands, Guatemala nikkiw... I'm really looking forward to coming back here to do a weeks worth of Spanish classes once Brendan has taken off. No point really writting too much as I can put it all up once I come back here for the week in alot more detail, plus I didnt bother to take my camera around with me as I knew I'll have a whole week to explore the city later on. There are heaps of free museums and art galleries to check out, we went and visited a few, but ...

Antigua Guatemala, Western Highlands, Guatemala cc_world_tour... to provide tours, so the agencies hire them as guides. They are properly identified with badges and they're very informed on everything related to volcanoes and the pacaya volcano history. Each guide has a walkie-talkie so they're all communicated at every moment. Going alone is not recommended because of robberies along the way or also because of any accident.

The hike up the mountain is not so terrible, is about one hour, depending on the physical condition of the ...
Pacaya, Escuintla, Guatemala jaribg... lollies and various other snacks. Guatemalans were lovely, even making the effort of thanking us in English. Another half hr down the road, we arrived amongst the coloured cobblestone maze of Antigua. People were getting off at all different stages through the city which made us very confused, eventually we reached a big dirt lot filled with buses, we thought we better jump off. We found our way out ...
Antigua Guatemala, Western Highlands, Guatemala cosbo... to stay in the room to rest and eat chicken soup and relax. But by Wednesday, this was not working so Sylvain asked the front desk to call me a doctor - and we got the coolest doctor in Guatemala. The attention was great and he diagnosed me with pneumonia and gave me some strong antibiotics. We also got a UPS delivery of our Carnets de Passage en Douane, papers that will help us cross the borders in South America more easily - that my mother sent to us ...
Guatemala, Guatemala courtrand... is this addorable little kid telling you it is only $1. Common sense prevailed though and Steph and I managed to get out of the market with minimal damage and some experiance in haggaling in Spanish. Tomorrow we begin our second round of spanish classes and in the afternoon we get to try out Salsa lessons. Don't worry there will be plenty of pictures and a few videos for viewing pleasure. We are off to have dinner, but more to come and pictures will be put up soon. Adios!
Antigua Guatemala, Western Highlands, Guatemala trishsteph... i skyerne.
