... We were welcomed by our hosts who showed us around and also suggested a nice place for dinner nearby.

We were tired but nonetheless decided to try it since it was Christmas Eve. The place was called Geoffrey’s Malibu and it definitely met our expectations. It's a nice, upscale restaurant overlooking the ocean and has outside seating with fire-induced heaters. The "Baked Brie in Puff Pastry" ...

Arrived LA after good overnight flight from Auckland on AirNZ. The flight we get leaves from Sydney and travels via Auckland to LA. And the return to Sydney is also via Auckland. You can have a stopover in Auckland each way if you want. It's a very good value flight and much cheaper ...

... and then all of a sudden we dropped. I squealed in terror as the elevator free-fell down the abandoned shaft then unexpectedly changed direction and hurtled back up the hotel. It continued to go up and down so fast I couldn't keep track of what was happening.
