As I mentioned in the previous post, the Sivananda Ashrams offered another course called Teacher's Training Course (TTC), which had been running nearly since the Ashram's inception, and were the anchor of Sivananda's strong reputation internationally. The Yoga Vacation were basically filler for the downtime between TTC courses, which run quarterly (some sites less frequently) for 4 weeks.
