Left Padua and travelled to Florence with a break in Verona. A beautiful city. Whilst Shakespeare never came to Verona and of course Romeo and Juliet are based on mythology, the story is the main tourist hype. A small courtyard has been set aside as Julie's garden with a false balcony but the number of people crushed into the space is ridiculous. We took a tour to Cinque Terre today, five small coastal towns on the cliffs on the western coast. Van, trains, ferry- all in 95 degree heat with high humidity.
