... own winding our way through the Tuscan countryside into the chianti wine region. We stopped at the town, greve for a wander around & lunch. We jumped back on the scooter for a quick visit to winery/castle in the hills, before heading back to Florence. Was great fun, definately something we would love to come back & see more of. ... Bardini and Boboli gardens. The Bardini garden is actually next door to our apartment and while Bob, like most men, is reluctant to ask for directions, he gets some help to navigate our course.

... I had been lingering at The Birth of Venus and the Primavera for quite a while. You just can't treat these paintings as a drive by. Anyway, I managed to find someone else in our group who had also been separated from the herd. We managed to find the others but missed out on so much commentary...no tip for him. It's so hot in the galleries which just doesn't make sense. You would think the climate would be caller to preserve the artworks.

... up the rental car location anymore..omg!!! By the time we finally dropped it off we were so ready to be rid of it. We were grateful to have it, because you can't really see Tuscany without one, but we're ready to not deal with it (or gas stations) anymore. We checked into our hotel and it's nothing to write home about. ... s amazing dome! Two laps of the Duomo looking for the ticket office and I eventually had to ask the guide...muttering about the Italians disdain for signage and their "do it yourself" attitude to catering to tourists, I eventually found the "office" - three ticketing machines in a small internal courtyard!
