There was a nice English lady in our carriage until Dresden, and she and Terry had plenty to talk about. She was replaced by a clean cut, self confident young American man, so Terry had someone else to talk to.

From Dresden, the further East we went, the buildings and towns seemed a little more shabby and abandoned, although it is hard to judge properly from the train.
