The rain clouds began lifting early this morning as we headed out to spend our last full day visiting Spokane, WA. As a special treat for winning the get-acquainted bingo game on Sunday, I got to eat breakfast in the owner's nook with two old friends and traveling companions, Thelma Yasuhara and Bob Peterson. Fabulous view and really comfy chairs.

From there, our GPS took us to Everett, Washington, so we could finally begin our journey on US Highway 2, as Greg has been planning for years. The topography changed dramatically from mountain scenery, (the Cascades), to farmland, to desert. We wandered upstairs and everyone decided we would go out for lunch, to a pizza place that had gluten free pizza. It was really yummy, because I haven't been able to have pizza at all since I have been here, because they rarely have gluten free bases. So that was really yummy, and ...

... is no excuse for not making these comfortable. and the exorbitant price would easily pay for it! Two words...memory foam! With the sleeper, we got 4 meals three times a day. That was really nice. And our waitress, Nilana (sp?) was an absolute delight. The food wasn't bad either.
I never realized how Jynormous Montana is. It didn't seem this long a stretch when we drove it last summer!
Next stop...Chicago...
