Patty here: I lost four pounds in four miles in the humidity during our hike yesterday, just sweated it off! Thank goodness for the incredible beauty and views, as well as the running commentary of my beloved partner and his fun sister Annie, who grew up in humid Florida and Ohio and so are used to it. Lisa chose such a lively venue for our fish dinner last night - it reminded me of our Phil's in Moss Landing. Great day!

It's 9.05. No train. No announcement yet. Oh now I realise I had some bizarre dreams about Manhattan, except family and friends where there in different parts as I wandered around! ... the back and victorious by three strokes overall! Shouting "Ray Cook's Revenge!" whenever I made a putt probably rubbed it in even more, haha! After a few tears from Bolton, we hugged, shook hands, and got in the car ready for lunch. One of our playing partners, Josh led us to Pepe's pizzeria and both he and Bolton recommended the clams casino pizza. With the less-than-stellar entry from yesterday's pizza adventure, I ...

... around 6:30am - we do not have to deal with that climb first thing :) !! Ahhhhhh.....the sound of planes taking off and landing......will surely make the 5.5 hours of sleep peaceful tonight! Waking up early, got a good start to the 24 miles we are aiming for. Good things about hiking out early, cool temps, cool breeze, no sun, no other hikers. Bad things, trees/shrubs/ grass are wet, bugs - the biting ones, slippery rocks, and cob webs. Other thing I ...
