    ... perfected the temperature of the shower in the house. It's taken me AGES to get it right, but today I actually put my brain to good use and thought about it. Normally I am in such a daze that I just try the various taps and eventually get there.

    I feel like this is a very tangential blog (perhaps they all are?). The Hudson is crystal clear again today and it is more nippy. Not helped by the fact I forgot my bobble hat! I'd say perhaps the train will be on ...

    We had a small picnic on the Lyndhurst lawn overlooking the ducks or geese - I forget which now. Then we headed back to Albany on route 9-W so that Emma could see the western side of the Hudson. We passed through a lot of countryside and small towns on the way to Albany. We went through nice sections of Albany so that Emma could see that they existed. Then on to Schenectady - by then it was DARK!

    ... around 6:30am - we do not have to deal with that climb first thing :) !! Ahhhhhh.....the sound of planes taking off and landing......will surely make the 5.5 hours of sleep peaceful tonight!
