Ah, this is the life Cushy beds, fancy food, hugs Bronīs parents are here! We have had an eventful couple of weeks since leaving Bolivia behind and sauntering across the border into Peru. We started the Peruvian leg of our journey in Arequipa, which quickly became one of Bron's favorite cities of the trip. Known as "The White City", Arequipa is dominated by buildings ornately carved from white volcanic rock - beautiful! Centered around a bustling Plaza de Armas, the city's attractions include...

It was week of the tourist in Cusco, which explained how we were greeted on arrival. We were all handed information, Peruvian bags which contained pens, magnets and a bookmark (my one had a silver foot pendent on it). Inside the terminal there were traditional dancers and more music - "Pan – Piped People), then transferred to our hotel which was in another “developing" area. As we were now over 10,000 feet we were advised to rest for the rest of the day and drink Coca tea,...

This was one of our special days to date. Wilbur drove us for one and a half hours out into the sacred valley of the Incas. Edgar giving us information on how people live in the country today. As an Inca descendent and having family in the country it was lovely to hear first hand.
Edgar had arranged for us to visit a school in the hills above the Sun Temple and as a small gesture we decided to take a football and volleyball for the children and stopped off in Ollantaytambo, a lovely s...

The quiz master was this young English woman who had this very loud, large voice that boomed out the questions, articulating each question as clearly as she could. She sounded like as if she was auditioning for a Shakespearean play. I could still hear her from my dorm room. I thought she had an extremely annoying voice and was ...
