    I am going to be well looked after- the induction programme looks pretty thorough....i have emailed this around to a few people who were asking....if you are interested let me know!

    All packed and ready to go, we headed down to the train station. We caught the 9:45 from Wool to Poole, where we then picked up the coach to London Heathrow. I dropped Lucy off at the station entrance and left her looking like a bag lady for fifteen minutes �� while I dumped the car back at home then had a brisk walk �� back to the station. Our 3396 mile trip to the Big Apple has begun... South West trains did us proud ...

    What a joy to have almost 10 days off from travelling and staying in Bournemouth in my brothers house with no particular itinerary! Walking is the theme for this week and Fitbit has clocked up an average of 15000 steps per day!

    For the first few days Chris & Jane are with us and we visit the historic Portsmouth dockyards...a great visit to see ...

    ... organisation that helps to find new loving and caring homes for homeless shelter animals. I will be living and working in Cape Town for four weeks with hopefully many other volunteers.

    The contract is signed and I am currently looking for flights to Cape Town. But of course, it is not as easy as it sounds. I have noticed I need to renew my passport again in the next few months. So, before I can fly to Cape town I need to go to the Belgian embassy ...

    ... they had eaten their first of the season the night before for dinner. On Fridays, they open up a farmers stall at the house for people to come and buy vegetables. It was great! There was so much to see there. They have really worked to make this a special garden that’s not just beautiful but productive.
