We briefly stop at Surfers Paradise for lunch and a few beach shots, but it's an ugly back drop for such a nice beach - all the high rise buildings tower over you and makes it feel void of any soul and a definition of a tourist trap. We roll on to Byron Bay, a busy but beautiful corner of Australia where we can chill for a few days. Our first night we make use of the camp facilities and cook up some grub. We've got a ...

Around 01.00 just before turning the lights out, eagle eyed Scott spotted a cockroach zip across the lounge floor. Luckily it was in the middle of the floor so we managed to grab a fruit bowl from the lounge table and trapped him underneath before it could disappear! After convincing ourselves that there was only one, we ...

      Day 52

A travel blog entry by choward14 on Dec 23, 2013

Went to the beach today for a little sun bathing session, when I got back mot the hostel, I got invited on a night out with a few others who were in their own. We went to a local bar and had dinner and a few drinks, I ended up winning two competitions! Exciting!! One prize was to go kayaking with dolphins, the other was $150 dollars off a trip to Frazer island, but because I have already been there and I'm travelling south, they said they will do me another deal! ...
