... Two -- (he worked on/owned the pheasant farm we'd wandered on to) showed us the escape route, down through the rosy scented Broad Campden, to home.

Fourthly there's the largest minority ethnic group, aka TOURISTS.

We have no need OR desire to blend in with this group especially as we're now locals!

How superior we can feel now as we confidently stride down the High Street knowing that we're among the blessed few who actually LIVE here in this fab place ...

After that it was hard to decide between the camels or the birds of prey, the Amazing Star ride playing rock hits from the 50s or the Punch and Judy show, the marching band or the Morris dancers.

Off to the side was a tall suspicious-looking pole topped with a huge bale of straw stuck on top.

Was it some sort of feeding apparatus for the camels? Or did it have a more sinister purpose? Definitely something to keep well clear of! ...

Day trip to the Cotswolds, with the highlight for me being a stop at the little town (Bampton) that stands in for the lovely village of Downton in the bespoke British class series Downton Abbey. Photo stop at Bibury, a lovely village, followed by lunch at Bourton-on-the-Water. For some reason my autocorrect on Facebook turned BotW to Bourbon-on-the-Water. :) On the way back to ...

... from Leamington and a few more from Stratford on Avon. Weather’s still A1 but the medium term forecast is for wet (but warm). All the fault of Wimbledon we’re told. This morning's drive (after a visit to the wonderfully quaint Stoksay Castle) was another pleasure, winding its way through the gorgeous Cotswolds. Stopped for a very good coffee and toast at who knows where, but it was another pretty town with friendly people and a story to tell . . .
