It was a good move to go early, as we got one whole day of beautiful sunny weather, which wasn't too cold before the big freeze hit. We used it wisely by driving up the Blue Ridge Parkway to climb up one of the high peaks in the area called Craggy Garden. You'll see from the photos how clear it was.
