... towards Beaver Lake. That was the final hike of the day and of the trip as well.

This is our final day in the Rockies, but this place is definitely worth many more visits. There is a ton of hidden treasures in the parks, plenty of new places to explore and majestic views to enjoy. This is a great place to spend a week or two in the wilderness and get out of a stuffy boiling city during summer months.

Back in Jasper, Matt took a 9km run and declared he is not mountain fit, Sarah lost another tooth and Matt experienced his first good coffee of the trip to date.

Tomorrow we return to Vancouver which will be an 8.5 hour drive plus stop time. We are seeing this as good training for the drives we will undoubtedly do in Australia over the next few years as we explore our home ...

... a whole bunch of rubble left behind by a receding glacier as it melted. I got bit constantly by bugs and some huge horseflies. Then that lovely drive back. The next stop was at Athabasca Falls. These falls were gushing. We walked the area but declined to go into the lower falls as the climb back up 59 steps felt too much on a hot day. Time to get in shape for this chick! ... the opulence "oozed" by the others, it brings the hotel room cleverly right into the spectacular nature charged surroundings. Our "Cabin" is nestled in the pine tress on the banks of the lake. ... or the Australian accents.  Lucy immediately found the hot spots on trip advisor and we were set for the next two nights of dining and bars.  We managed a cheeky mountain bike ride on our last day, I was very impressed with Lucy's biking ability off road.  The only small hickup came after finishing one of the trails where turned the corner and were less then 15 metres from a grizzly bear.  We were quickly ushered away by a ...
