... they were so quick! But I was very excited. Evelyn laughed at me because she'd already seen many squirrels during her exchange and travels but I was then on constant lookout for squirrels. We explored the Victorian mansion area which was redesigned by the famous William Burges in the 19th century in a very strange style. The designer was high on opium for most of his life so the designs are pretty crazy but I really liked it, especially the library. Carvings ...

... Visited the city centre which isn't particularly memorable and spent a day walking the coastal path from Newport to Cardiff. It was nice to stride out in the sunshine and get a bit of exercise though it isn't the most inspiring part of the coastal path network. ... This time we are in separate rooms at the Avala Guest House, a three star hotel that is very comfortable for us all.
