... of hours at Fort George which is a reconstructed British fort from the War of 1812. We wandered around the grounds and buildings and witnessed two volunteers dressed in costume demonstrating how to shoot their weapons. Lots of smoke and noise! All the volunteers at the fort were well informed and passionate about the roles they played and our visit there was a lovely way to end our mini Christmas break.

... famed for inventing the Crazy Cookie, it’s almost a cake but in the shape of a cookie. The table mats in the cafe are laminated newspaper reports of his success story, and describe a deal with a national supermarket that could have made him a millionaire. However the talks fell through and now he tends his store dreaming of what could have been. We parked next to the bridge that crosses the Ganaraska River. 20 or more anglers lined the bank while the river boiled with salmon. ...
