but the prices have gone up. Due to low season i got a good deal, but i suspect i have the worst room at the front and its a little damp...but comfy beds, with nets, lovely hot showers, great breakfast, helpful and charming owners who can organise everything for you. Good choice.

Just spent 5 days at Teakwood Guest house. What a great experience. The room was large, clean and had a lovely veranda. Breakfast was wonderful. We found the family that owns the place to be very helpful and not at all pushy as some have reported. Highly recommend it.

Our meetings turned into a trilogy when we saw (and chatted to) each other the next day in Mandalay while having lunch at the Green Elephant. The two of them then set off to trek in the hills, but were later travelling to Inle Lake, the place we headed to next . Today, as you may have guessed already by ...

... floral scent. There's "real 100% silver" earrings, bracelets, rings and necklaces, glittering when the sun catches them at certain angles. Piles of citrus mandarins, crunchy cauliflowers and many more fruits and vegetables are on display, freshly picked and waiting to be sold. I can see huge bags of fresh Myanmar tea and sachets of super-delicious and fresh (I'm being a little sarcastic here) instant 3-in-1 coffee mix. I even ...
